Facebook Messenger - Using Prism

Recently hooked on facebook, so I found 1 way to make me always appear online and track down my friend. ;). For those who want to have the facebook messenger on their desktop can try this too.

First, you must have firefox as your browser and its addon - Prism. Then login to your account and open up http://www.facebook.com/presence/popout.php.

Second, go to Tools > Convert Website into Application.


An option will pop out, set it the way you want and done.



It can appear at notification area too.

Open up any site.


Go to Tools > Convert Website to Application.



Select your preference.



Done.

Now you can place in on your dock or whatever like normal application.

Blocking Ads In Internet Explorer 8 Part II

Here is the way to add your own rule to block those ads that do not listed under the previous rules.


Leaked one.

First, right click on the banner and select Properties.


Copy the domain of the banner as shown. Open the rules.xml with notepad. Create a new string at the bottom of list. Format as below.

Now save the new rules.xml file and import it again to your IE8. Done.

Blocking Ads In Internet Explorer 8

Internet Explorer (IE) is the most basic and common browser even many of us hate it. But, sometime we still need to back to the basic. Some website need some plug-in that only supported in IE, like the problem I facing now. So, I have to force myself use IE and the thing that I hate the most - Ads have come back too.

So, here is the way to remove it.

On Internet Explorer, switch yourself to private surfing. Tools > InPrivate Browsing


Next, go to Tools > InPrivate Filtering Setting


On the new window, select Advance Setting.


Download the Rules , right click and save as. Then, import the the rules.xml file into the IE setting.


Ok, you are done. Remember to turn on InPrivate Filtering feature when surfing. This can be done by press Ctrl + Alt + F.

Surf without Ads Using Firefox !


Nowadays, lot of sites have advertisements on their pages for money. Some of them floating around our screen blocking our content and some contain those adults ads that hurt our kids.
So now, we can block them all by using Firefox and its addon - Adblock Plus !

But, remember to block only those big and flashy ads that hinder your surfing. Some sites like me need to have some supports too ! =D


First, get yourself a Firefox browser. Open it, and click on Tools > Add-ons.

A window will pop out, and click on Gets Add-ons and search for Adblock Plus.

Look on the results, and select Add to Firefox...



After that, click on Install.



After installation finish, restart Firefox and it is ready to go. Let have some simple blocking. =)


Oh...ads !

Select Adblock Frame or Adblock Image. This time I choose Adblock Frame.

Pop out and Add filter.

Woot ! No more ads !
